have to는 must와 마찬가지로 ~해야 한다 라는 강한 확신이라는 뜻을 가지고 있다.
ex)
I'm going to be late for work tomorrow. I have to go to the dentist.
You have to pass a test before you can get a driver's license.
- 과거를 나타낼 때는 must와 마찬가지로 had to 를 사용한다.
의문문이나 부정문에서는 do/does/did(don't / doesn't / didn't)를 사용한다.
ex)
I'm not working tomorrow, so I don't have to get up early.
We didn't have to wait very long for the bus.
- must를 부정문으로 사용할때는 must not 이라고 표현한다.
