Present Perfect Continuous(현재완료진행) :
행위에 초점! 뭔가가 끝나고 안끝나고는 중요한게 아님.
Present Perfect Simple(현재완료) :
결과에 초점! 행위 그 자체가 아닌 행위의 결과에 중점.
Compare these examples :
- My hands are very dirty. I've been fixing the car.
(차를 고친다는 행위에 초점을 둠. 차를 다 고쳤고 안고쳤고는 중요한게 아님.)
- The car is OK again now. I've fixed it.
(차를 다 고쳤다는 결과에 대해 말하고 있음.)
- She's been eating too much recently. She should eat less.
(최근에 캔디를 많이 먹는다는 행위가 중점. 캔디를 남기고 다 먹고 그런 결과는 중요치 않음.)
- Somebody has eaten all my candy! The box is empty.
(캔디를 다 먹어버렸다는 결과에 중점을 둠.)
Use the continuous to say how long (for an activity that is still happening) :
- How long have you been reading that book?
- Lisa is still writing letters. She's been writing letters all day.
Use the simple to say how much, how many, or how many time( for completed actions) :
- How many pages of that book have you read?
- Lisa has written ten letters today.
Some verbs(for example, know/like/bekieve) are not normally used in the continuous :
- I've known about it for a long time. (not I've been knowing)
